The Science
Dried apricots are extremely high in sugar (+107% DV per 100g) and carbohydrates (+23% DV), which can cause rapid blood glucose spikes in people with diabetes. Although they provide fiber (+26% DV) and magnesium (+8% DV) that may help with glycemic control, the sugar load outweighs these benefits, especially in large portions.
Recommendation
If consumed at all, limit to a very small portion (e.g., 1-2 apricots) and pair with a protein or fat source to slow sugar absorption, but generally avoid due to high sugar content.
